Silverware Drawer

I've always been bothered by the black scuff marks in my silverware tray.  They won't come out no matter how I scrub.  I was going to get new ones but the drawer configuration is a little odd and, also, those stupid things are expensive.

So I decided to project it.

My gear:  some leftover scrapbook paper, a cutting mat, ruler, exacto knife, tape measure (?) and modge podge.  While I was at it I modge-podged the rice container lids from this project.

Ta-da.  Happy.  Happy.  Happy.

Two Wheeler

Tuff learned to ride a two-wheeler.  She just kinda taught herself while coasting down the driveway.  All was well until last weekend.... she was cruising down the neighbor's steep and rutted drive and she WIPED OUT.

So now she has a neo-to-go on a keychain hooked to her bike.  No stopping this child.

Sunglasses

I love sunglasses.  From back in the day when I was a wearing hard contact lenses in the dirt fields wearing something like these babies:

60mm large frame Alpine sunglasses with leather side-shields

And then I got into high school and became a snob wearing these:

oakley-frogskins-black

And I even had a pair of fake ray-bans I got in Tiajuana.

As a grown up I'm all about Smith Sunglasses.  I like the ones with changeable lenses.  Yes, they are pricey but Hot can usually get them pro-form or we get them from Sierra Trading Post.  Honestly... I have two pairs and I've had them forever.

But my sunglasses have started giving me a headache when I wear them on top of my head.  WTF?  So I take them off and I'm afraid I will leave them somewhere.

Part of my mama style desire has always been to have some really great aviator sunglasses (and a really great pair of cowboy boots).  So a few weeks ago the girls and I went shopping at Ross.  We got two pairs for $15.  How awesome are we?

One pair is pink and the other is turquoise.

So which are you?  All about the quality or cheap sunglasses all the way?  Or some sort of hybrid?

My Week.

Wearing jeans, long-sleeved grey or black t-shirts and a scarf to work EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Driving down the road, realize I forgot my go cup, cautiously peek around the car looking for the tell-tale brown streaks that indicate yet another smashed cup will be in my drive way when I get home.

Failure to put the car in the garage EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Frozen water bottles everywhere.

Mushy carved pumpkin on the table... open it up.... is that Don King's head in there??

Tangled cables, dead cell phones, lost credit card, missing mail.

Property tax, car license, pickup license and insurances due.

For my sister....

Look!  Today I'm wearing the shoes I wore to your wedding!

Day 16: Something you believe to your very core. Support it with examples.

Day 16:  Something you believe to your very core.  Support it with examples.

If I just work a little harder I can get it all done.

Not logical.... but I believe it.

Day 15: Your favorite book or series of books

Day 15.  I think I switched days 14 and 15.  Oops.  Your favorite book or series of books.

I'm going to go with the Kane Chronicles.  Because I got a question right on Jeopardy because I read The Red Pyramid....
